Head of Legacy, International Olympic Committee

Dr Braga is the Head of Legacy of the International Olympic Committee. She has a robust expertise in the fields of corporate responsibility and sustainability, with over 18 years of professional experience in the area. Her background combines a PhD in applied economics with a successful hands-on experience of implementing sustainability practices at private corporations, research institutions and NGOs.

Before joining the IOC,  she worked as the Sustainability, Accessibility and Legacy head of the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee. Her responsibilities were to develop and oversee the sustainability, accessibility and legacy programmes of Rio 2016, contributing to the creation of positive and lasting environmental, social and economic legacies.

Previously, she worked for a global leader in executive education and for a number of universities and non-profit organizations. She has contributed to world-class applied research and publications and have experience managing multidisciplinary teams involving coordination of simultaneous projects in multi-cultural environments. She also lectured at a number of postgraduate level, continuing and executive education programmes.

She has given numerous public presentations and interviews for international and domestic media, written policy reports, chaired several expert groups and facilitated capacity building workshops on topics ranging from sustainable purchasing and corporate social responsibility to climate change, human rights, water quality and sustainable agriculture.
